English Reporter

 The English Reporter is responsible for writing, producing, and delivering news stories, articles, and features in English based on field reporting, research, data analysis, and assignments from editors or newsroom coordinators. This role also involves live reporting, interviews, and developing news ideas based on current issues, trends, and reliable sources. 

• Write and produce English news stories, features, reports, and articles based on field reporting, research, data analysis, factual findings, and editorial assignments from coordinators and editors. 
• Conduct live reporting, field observations, interviews, research, and fact-gathering related to news events and current issues. 
• Translate, rewrite, and adapt articles sourced from media partners and affiliated organizations. 
• Monitor and stay updated on breaking news and developing stories. 
• Develop story ideas based on public issues, trends, official documents, data analysis, audience interests, and coordinator/editorial direction. 
• Ensure the accuracy, verification, and validation of information, quotes, documents, photos, videos, and data used in reporting. 
• Deliver content accurately and on time in accordance with editorial deadlines. 
• Collaborate effectively with editors, reporters, photographers, and other team members. 
• Build and maintain strong networks with news sources, stakeholders, and relevant institutions

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Economics, Political Science, or related fields.
• Passion for journalism with strong English news writing skills, excellent grammar, creativity, and the ability to write in accordance with editorial style guidelines.
• Strong research, data analysis, interviewing, and reporting skills.
• Willing to work flexible and irregular working hours, including breaking news situations, night shifts, overtime work, and duty assignments during weekends and public holidays.
• Willing to travel for reporting assignments, including out-of-town coverage and special events.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience with major international news agencies and at least 3 years of experience with local media organizations.
• Possess extensive social connections and strong professional networks with government institutions, businesses, industry stakeholders, and relevant sources.
• Excellent English proficiency, preferably supported by TOEFL or IELTS certification. 
• Mandarin language proficiency is an advantage.
