Ocean Freight Manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ocean Freight Pricing Expert to join our Ocean Freight Management team. The role is responsible for managing, developing, and optimizing pricing strategies for import/export ocean freight services. This position requires strong analytical skills, market awareness, and the ability to coordinate with carriers, sales teams, and internal departments to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.

• Analyze shipping costs, carrier contracts, market trends, and competitor rates to develop accurate and competitive pricing.
• Handle RFQs (Request for Quotation) and tenders from clients and agents globally.
• Liaise with ocean carriers and co-loaders to negotiate buying rates and space agreements.
• Update internal pricing tools and maintain rate tariffs across various trade lanes.
• Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to support pricing requests and strategy planning.
• Ensure pricing proposals meet profitability targets and company guidelines.
• Monitor freight market fluctuations and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
• Support global and regional procurement initiatives.
• Provide pricing performance reports and contribute to monthly business reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in ocean freight pricing, freight forwarding, or logistics.
• Strong understanding of international shipping (Incoterms, trade lanes, surcharges, etc.).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, rate management tools, and freight forwarding systems (e.g., CargoWise, SAP TM, etc.).
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal (English is a must).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
